Embrace what scares you and use it to fuel your journey to growth.
– KEYS SOULCARE
“I usually speak with the optimism that I want to feel, even though sometimes I’ll be feeling the opposite. But, now I’ve realized that there is POWER in speaking to your fears. Share them, get past them, honor them and get them out. It’s so powerful for healing and manifesting what you want! Are you open to sharing your fears?” — Alicia Keys
You never know where inspiration may be found. Alicia’s quality time with her son Egypt, watching the animated series The Legend of Korra, made her think about the way that fear can be reframed to find power. Korra’s father advised Korra to use her fear to ultimately create the outcome she wanted.
In listening to yourself, acknowledging the validity of your own fears and anxieties, and speaking and honoring them aloud, you create space for emotions that can guide you to your higher purpose.
Like Korra, we can all learn to take what scares us and use these visceral reactions as motivation to manifest what we want. Letting fears into the light can be a powerful tool for healing. By tapping into trepidation, we have a runway to see clearly how we may transform and change for the good of our future selves.
Making the leap from fear to motivation can be as easy as these steps via the Chopra Center:
- Breathe into the present moment
- Notice your thoughts and feelings
- Reframe
- Allow fear to be your counselor
- Take action
Speak about it. Breathe into it. Move past it, and step into your warrior. That’s fearlessness.
How are you speaking your fears? Tell us in the comments below.

I have so much to say…lol…I just remembered…You can get most of the nutrients your body requires from sea moss. It’s a natural and efficient way to make sure your body has all the minerals it needs to function well. And yes..confront your fears and anxieties. You will be better off for it. Bless!

Oh…before I forget…I agree completely…facing your fears and confronting them is very effective at dealing with one’s fears and anxieties. I’ve also learned over the years that the lack of adequate amounts of important nutrients and enzymes the body needs can heighten fear and anxiety. I’m no expert, but I’ve found that lack of Magnesium,Manganese, Zinc and Iron as well as other essential minerals can cause one to have an impending sense of anxiety, fear and trepidation. I hope this little insight might help someone..especially women who constantly struggle to replenish lost nutrients and minerals. Blessings and Love.

Very inspiring…very reassuring…I understand fully what you mean Alicia..What is repressed…what is not reconciled will lurk within the shadows of our consciousness and ultimately affect us, often without us realizing. I have a fear of snakes…I wasn’t able to even watch a video of them. I’ve since learned to face them. I can look at them in videos. I’m not quite at the place where I can deal with them in person…but it’s a start…

I love what you are saying here! What a great kid’s show to display such a healthy coping skill, talking about our fears. I agree that sometimes our initial instinct is to keep them inside, almost to try and protect ourselves from them. Little do we know by keeping our fears bottled up inside it’s doing more harm than good. Such a great skill not only to teach our kids but it’s a great skill for anyone. Right now some big fears I have are “Will the surgery I need to greatly improve the quality of my life be approved by my insurance?” And “Am I a positive enough person to be considered a good role model?” And “Will my kids end up okay, even with this world being scary right now, even with me being in a wheelchair, will they have the future they deserve?”
I’m sure there are some who can relate to at least one of these fears floating around in my head. Let’s remember we are not alone in our fears! We find strength and community by relating to each other. Thank you for sharing this with us Alicia! Wishing you and everyone out there a wonderful day.

A spirit of Fearlessness is something that I have been working on cultivating in myself this year. I want to have an unapologetic stance against my fears, where I am able to stare my greatest fears in the eyes and let them know that they have no power over the courage inside of me. I am reminding myself that every large fear I have is just a shadow of the greatness I am stepping into. The moment my light moves forward towards my greatness, the shadow of fear will fade away as I grow stronger and steadier in my pursuit of a beautiful life.

I speak my fears through the seer of my ears then I listen and write the issues of my mind as a chime so I can release the anxiety into the atmosphere of time then I can move forward into the sphere to only hear “my fear” … then my body connects and my fingers begin to write… solutions begin to extract and exude the pores that’s tight Now here comes my spiritual kin… breathe baby breathe… Yes Now we see… I’m in the Light fear is gone…and Now nothing is wrong…this is how I heal by opening up to feel. Love this! Such a great reminder to harness that fear energy and turn it into motivation!
