Motherhood is full of wonders — including the age-old mystery of: how does she do it all? The truth? She doesn’t, so we’re dispelling the myth of motherly perfection and highlighting the joy of small indulgences.
(After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup.) Read on to discover some of our favorite supermoms and rituals that won’t just fill you up, but will keep you overflowing.
Supermoms who are super busy
When it comes to “doing it all,” our goddess-in-chief reigns supreme. Producing timeless tunes, creating unforgettable tours, leading an award-winning beauty brand, and partnering with industry leaders just scratches the surface of Alicia’s legendary career. Despite all of this, she revealed in an interview with Goop that her real superpower is slowing down. “So much can be done without running at the speed of light,” she said before giving props to the gift of stillness caused by the pandemic. “The stillness [was] a chance to show me that there’s still movement in stillness. And, in fact, I think I’ve gotten more efficient and better at it. Because I’m also allowed [to carve] out that time and that space for whatever it is — for silence, for meditation, for playing piano, for creating, for dreaming, or just for sleeping.”

Slowing down is easier when you set the mood. Surround yourself with the warm, calming scent of our Sage + Oat Milk Candle to shift the pace with intention — even if it’s just for five magic minutes.
Supermoms who are super mindful
Mindfulness is often gentleness; going with the flow rather than trying to force control can offer relief from those ever-present motherhood stresses. NOVA founder Julia Zangrilli is a child-led parent, embracing the fullness of expression. “I try to create boundaries around certain things like violence, but other than that, there are very few things that [I] say a hard ‘no’ to,” she shared with Keys Soulcare. As both a small business owner and mother, Julia also leans on openness and flexibility when it comes to realistic self-care. Her solution for not having time for full spa days? Turning the bathroom into a sanctuary. “I was just reflecting on what’s accessible,” she says. “What I can do is go to the bathroom, lock the door, dim the lights, and spend a few minutes practicing palm inhalation or tooling around with some skincare products.”

Go with your flow by using the Obsidian Gua Sha Massage Tool. With a full-body massage right at your fingertips, you can skip the spa and still carve out time for you. Want to make it extra luxe? Pair your massage with the Sacred Body Oil.
Supermoms who are super independent
Motherhood comes with a lot of pressure — to be flawless, omnipresent, completely knowledgeable, and tirelessly selfless — all while managing the other roles you carry within your life. This can cause stress and stigma around needing a little extra support. “I still struggle with being vulnerable enough to ask for help,” super mama Jaycina Almond, founder of Tender Foundation, told Keys Soulcare. “But, I’ve been trying to get better. There [are] so many times [when] I wait until the last minute. I wait until my breaking point and I’m crying.” As a young mother, Jaycina shared that finding a balance between her pride and community can be a struggle. “When you’re the only one with a kid in your friend group, it’s hard for people to understand because they don’t have the same experience,” she adds. “But, it doesn’t mean they don’t want to help you.”

They say “it takes a village” for a reason. Mothers deserve support and care, every step of the way. Show a mom or a mentor appreciation with the Mother’s Day Ritual — the offering made just for the nurturers that deserve it all.
