Three beauty editors send love and appreciation to their limbs, hearts, and minds.
– KEYS SOULCARE
From the magnificent work of simply keeping us alive to seeing us through tough times so that we can bask in the beautiful ones, our bodies are freaking amazing. And yet, we admit that we can get so caught up in the “getting through it” nature of life that we fall out of practice with sending our limbs the love they’re due. So today, we’re bringing in a few pros to help us do just that!
Read on — and feel free to take notes — on three beauty editors’ love letters to their own bodies. #PraiseYourBody

“Dear Body, thank you for being so strong and getting me through traumatic times. Thank you for allowing me to move around with freedom. Thank you for allowing me to express myself when words are not enough. Thank you for teaching me that breath is extremely healing. That true beauty is more about how I feel than how I look. That rest is productive.
Dear body, I accept your limits and boundaries, because it’s taught me the importance of patience, self-respect, and a lot about caring for myself more intentionally. I’m learning to care less about how it looks and more about how it feels. I’m moving into a space where I’m just grateful to have my limbs intact… to be able to move it in ways that make me feel good. I try not to take that for granted. I’ve been in many accidents where I could’ve lost my life or had major injuries; they’ve taught me a lot about the fragility of all bodies — and honestly, life itself. Everyday is a blessing and everyday I can move my body in this life is a blessing.”

“Dear Body, I feel so connected to you when I’m lifting weights. I feel powerful and strong — but the only way I push you is by affirming myself and reminding you of how forceful-yet-fierce you are. Those moments of affirmation make me feel ultimately connected to you — not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
My relationship with you has changed a lot. Your curves have taught me how to be fearless about caring for myself more intentionally. I went from being insecure about them, to loving and embracing them and inspiring other women to do the same while getting fit and showing others that that doesn’t always mean being skinny. Along the way, I’ve learned how powerful and strong my body really is — it’s my mind that I’ve always had to convince.
Thank you for getting me through everyday life, even through a global pandemic. Thank you for teaching me that my strength has no limits.”

“Dear Body, thank you for carrying me through the ebb and flow of life with so much grace, kindness, and love. Thank you for teaching me that even as I evolve, every version of myself that I choose to embrace is absolutely beautiful. My relationship with you has changed massively over the years. Although every day is different, I’ve learned to love every curve, mark, and “imperfection.” It’s allowed me to lean more into radical self-care and tend to your needs unapologetically, whether that be through working out, resting, or pampering myself.
I feel most connected to you when I’m setting healthy boundaries, meditating, working out, journaling, and getting a good amount of sleep. I try to take a mind, body, [and] soul approach to achieve some sort of balance — I’m a libra, can’t help it ;).”
