WHAT IS CLEAN BEAUTY?
“Clean beauty” broadly refers to a wider movement, but there’s not a standard definition of everything that entails. The phenomenon continues to evolve, and ranges widely across the skincare and beauty landscape. Some clean beauty brands interpret the moment to say that their products are “non-toxic,” and don’t contain things like harsh alcohols, harmful chemicals, or parabens. Others include sustainability, packaging, and ethical ingredient sourcing as part of their definition of “clean.”
Confusingly, “all-natural,” “natural,” “organic,” “clean,” and “green” beauty are not all synonyms for the same thing, but don’t let that get you down!

WHAT IS KEYS SOULCARE CLEAN?
A little background info: in the United States, skincare and cosmetics are regulated by the Federal Drug Administation (FDA), but U.S. regulations only encompass about a dozen “banned” ingredients. In contrast, the European Union Cosmetics Regulation has restrictions on over 1,600 ingredients.

A NOTE ON FRAGRANCE-FREE VS. UNSCENTED
Many people are sensitive to fragrance, or have developed allergies to certain fragrances.
That’s a big reason why our Firm Belief Smoothing Peptide Face Cream is fragrance-free, while our Reviving Aura Facial Mist and Harmony Face Mask is formulated without added fragrance.
A quick note: unscented does not mean it’s fragrance-free! In fact, unscented can mean that chemicals are added to a product to mask a fragrance. If your skin is sensitive to fragrance, opt for fragrance-free product offerings instead of unscented ones.
