Practice makes progress.

“A real sign of progress is when we no longer punish ourselves for our imperfections.” — Yung Pueblo
When Alicia reposted Yung Pueblo’s powerful words, we couldn’t help but think: Is this possible?
On the journey to truly becoming our best selves, we’re often tempted to seek out perfection. But perfection isn’t possible.
Not because you aren’t great.
Not because you haven’t “earned” it.
Not because you’re “failing” or “falling behind.”
Perfection simply doesn’t exist — and that’s a good thing. You’re a lightworker because you set yourself apart from the pressure to become your best, brightest self. Your light shines so brightly because you illuminate with authenticity. And when you speak, you inspire others to show up as unapologetically as you do.
So, why be perfect when you could be unique? Why be what you think everyone wants when you could be exactly what you need? You are one of one — and none of that beauty, power, and grace would be possible without imperfection.
Embrace the imperfect. Embrace the so-called flaws. Embrace the mistakes and changes you’ll inevitably make and say, “Thank you.” Stay grateful for the path you get to carve for yourself. (And persist for the generations influenced by your existence.)
Leave perfection at the door. Choose to be present, grateful, and badass instead. Don’t hold yourself back because of naysayers — including your inner critic. Show up and show out! We see you and got you, always.
Team Soulcare loves it when you SHINE. Tell us: How will you stop letting “perfect” stand in your way? Let it all go in the comments!
