Alicia shares why a possibility-based mindset is her most valuable asset.

“Money, like all life, is an energy exchange. You give yourself over to whatever you’re passionate about, and what comes back to you is energy in the form of monetary compensation. You attract more or less of what you want by how you choose to interact with it, as well as what you believe about yourself. Do you truly feel you deserve what you’re asking for? Are you worth it? How you answer impacts what comes your way.
What you focus on expands. If you focus on the goodness of your life, you create more of it. And if you live life with an open palm rather than a closed fist, you leave room for immeasurable blessings to flow through your hands.” — Alicia Keys, More Myself
We live in a world that can teach us that there simply isn’t “enough.” There isn’t enough to share with our fellow human beings, and there’s definitely not enough for us to not only fight for what we want, but thrive in it, too. This overarching theme of lack can leave us feeling afraid to reach for the very things we’re dreaming of.
In the end, limiting our self-worth, values, and fears to material things only limits us to those superficial, always-changing value systems, too. Learning to shift our mindsets about wealth and worth to what’s inside our hearts, spirits, and minds keeps us open to endless possibilities — and our infinite potential.
Turning our focus from scarcity to surplus allows us to see the good in all things — especially ourselves — no matter what shifts around us.
