Pack your bags and take advantage of the season.
– KEYS SOULCARE
Traveling for soulcare? Fall is a prime time to explore your next destination. The window between September and November gets overshadowed by the bookends of summer vacays and winter holidays. A soulful sojourn can feel out of place as students rush back into school schedules and travel hotspots post their off-season signs. But, before you pack up your passports and get settled at home, you might want to reconsider the hidden gems this wind-down season possesses
1. Fewer crowds.
Going your own way pays off, even when you’re traveling. By ditching the normal travel season, you avoid the usual crowds that explore popular travel spots. While some of the most notable locations worldwide will always have a line, avoiding peak seasons like summer can give you more room to breathe and explore without the stress of large groups and long lines.
2. Better lodging.
Fewer people mean more options when it comes to hotels and rentals. Those off-season signs are often your cue to score exclusive deals. Having less competition for your bookings also means you can treat yourself to an extra luxe upgrade with all of your savings. (Who doesn’t love a discounted spa date?)
3. Sweater weather.
Summer is a great time to soak up the sun, but you can have too much of a good thing. As the hottest time of the year, it can sometimes be hard to keep up with your summer travel itinerary. Fall offers some reprieve from the endless heat, while still giving us enough warmth and sunlight to enjoy our days.
4. Fall foliage.
The cooler weather also means the shift in seasons, which makes for a beautiful fall scene. If you’re lucky enough to travel through tree-lined areas around the world, Mother Nature will give you a show. The eccentric beauty of fall foliage is marked by the vibrant tint of leaves. As trees shed in preparation for the winter months, soaking up the views is more than enough reason to embark on a new adventure.
5. Foods and festivals.
The best part of any time of year? The foods that commemorate the season. Fall centers around harvesting with special attention given to apples, squash, spices, and an array of warm, sweet drinks. Many of these ingredients can be found on the menu of themed festivals. Whether it’s a pumpkin fair or Oktoberfest, heading out to indulge in seasonal goodies is well worth a trip.
