Pick a moment, or a movement, to honor the women in your life.
– KEYS SOULCARE
International Women’s Day is upon us, making it time to celebrate everything women have accomplished and continuing to fight for everything that’s left to do. To get you started on your path to honoring this momentous day, we’re sharing five ways to feel empowered and give back to the women who have been our global community’s trendsetters, advocates, and healers.
1. Listen to Women
One way to support women’s empowerment: Tune in. Women deserve to be heard. Their perspectives enrich everyone’s experiences and education. Find a podcast, level up your joyscroll, and uplift the voices that often go unheard. Listening to women when they share their stories, expertise, and dreams is a simple way to make a significant impact.
2. Buy From Women
As business owners, women are innovators. Their creations are thoughtful, artful pieces of art — literally and figuratively speaking. So why not put your money where your mouth is? With the wage gaps still wide open, getting more money into the hands of women is critical to progress.
3. Thank Women
From your mother to your workplace bestie, the women in our lives come through for us repeatedly. Gratitude is everything, but it’s often overlooked. While you can’t possibly say “thank you” enough for everything women do, it’s still good to hear. Show some love in a handwritten letter or a ritual fit for a goddess. Either way, it will be deeply appreciated.
4. Thank Yourself
If you’re a woman, you owe yourself some gratitude. It’s hard to shine at full wattage in a world that’s trying to dim your light. You deserve some self-love, on International Women’s Day and beyond.. Be your own hypewoman by reciting daily affirmations or turn a quiet moment into a personal ceremony. (Psst…you can come back and thank us later.)
5. Fight for Women
Women are powerful, but they’re not invincible. As women fight for their rights worldwide, do your part to join in. Support women-led organizations bringing social issues to the forefront and doing the necessary advocacy work.
Thank a superwoman in your life. Drop a thank you note in the comments!
