How intentional time helps the Girltrek co-founder re-center and refuel 24/7.
– KEYS SOULCARE
As Girltrek’s COO and co-founder, Vanessa Garrison is well-versed in the art of prioritizing one’s wellbeing (After all, Girltrek is inspiring over one million Black women — and counting — to take up space and reclaim their time in the name of health and lifestyle justice). We couldn’t help but wonder how this awe-inspiring wellness advocate finds time to care for herself. Fortunately, she shared this gem, courtesy of a convo with her co-founder T. Morgan Dixon:
Vanessa’s Ritual: That Magic 30 Minutes
“When I am centering my needs, moving my body, prioritizing my self-care, I’m taking the time that I actually need for myself. I was telling [my Girltrek co-founder] Morgan that 30 minutes is all I’ve actually been able to do lately — not a minute more, because I really haven’t had the time or maybe even the desire. But, it’s just enough. Just enough to have a silent meditation. Just enough to reflect on yesterday. Just enough to talk to God and get some [divine] downloads.”
“Having time” and “making time” are two different things — how can you start making time to prioritize yourself this week? Share in the comments.
