“Sage + Oat Milk is all about nurturing and protection,” says fourth-generation perfumer Catherine Selig, who worked with Alicia to craft the perfect scent blend. “When Alicia smelled it,” she said, “This is like me in a bottle… literally, a bottle of me.’”
Selig says that’s not where she and Alicia’s scent-meets-soulcare synergy stopped.
“Music and olfaction [sense of smell] tap into the same part of the brain, so there’s an instant connection in working with a musician like Alicia,” says Selig. “With a song, you can remember the time when you listened to it, who you were with, what you were feeling — it’s exactly the same for fragrance. Both can move you to a different state of mind.”
