Here’s what keeps Womanly Magazine’s editor-in-chief relaxed and renewed.
– Keys Soulcare
Attia Taylor is a multi-hyphenate superstar making health and wellness accessible to Black and Brown women as well as non-binary communities. Whether she’s sharing life-saving information through Womanly Magazine or leading digital content for Planned Parenthood, Attia is the true definition of a lightworker. But one question remains:how does this artful advocate manage self-care while caring so deeply for others? Here, Attia is dishing on who keeps her inspired and the mid-day moment she can’t do without.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR DAILY ROUTINE?
Lately, my favorite thing to do is make myself a cup of tea in the morning. It warms my hands and my heart before I start work. I use that time to reflect on my day and set good intentions.
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM FOR THE FUTURE?
Universal Healthcare for all.
HOW DO YOU TAKE A MOMENT FOR YOURSELF?
Taking naps is my favorite way to get some alone time and relax mid-day. I like to read a little of my book and doze off for 30 minutes or so. It’s truly refreshing.
YOUR PERSONAL MANTRA OF THE MOMENT?
Think positive, no matter what.
WHAT MUSIC, BOOK, AND/OR PODCAST ARE YOU VIBING TO?
Carefree Black Girls by Zeba Blay is such a beautiful and moving book! I laughed and cried — I mean really cried. Helado Negro has a beautiful new album called Far In. It’s so peaceful and reflective.
WHAT DOES BEAUTY LOOK LIKE TO YOU?
Loving yourself unconditionally. The body we’re in is beautiful, no matter what.
WHO AND WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Black women inspire me.
