I love to start my mornings by burning Palo Santo; it clears my energy for a new day.
I dream to continue my path of personal development while creating a space for other men like me in [the] media, not just in the beauty industry. This is what inspired me to start The Method Male in the first place. My dream is to see it continue to grow into something bigger than myself.
I do not give up easily. I can be very persistent. That’s one thing that has helped me to survive as I made my way. My drive surprises me sometimes, but it has rarely led me in the wrong direction.
Sleep is the best kind of me-time, and I am learning to take advantage of it more. It’s the one thing that recharges me, where I can’t replace one distraction for another. Besides that, I try to enjoy time to myself at home as much as possible. I’ll tune out work and get lost in a film or discover new music. I also love to take walks in my neighborhood and sit in the park.
“One day at a time.” My mom used to always say that when I was a kid. Now that I’m an adult, I live by that. Good or bad, we can only deal with things on a moment-to-moment basis. Thanks for that, Mom.
I’m re-reading The Black Bourgeoisie by E. Franklin Frazier. It’s one of my favorite books from my college days. I love Soulection Radio on Apple Music. I’m always on SoundCloud discovering new music. I have to have a soundtrack at all times!
To me, beauty looks like a million different things. You find it in nature, in people, and in moments. Beauty to me is appreciating what’s in front of you and doing everything you can to preserve it. Beauty is where you find it. Black men are beautiful; it’s time we take ownership of that word, too.
