From breaking a sweat to nourishing your skin from the inside out, here are six ways we’re glowing right now.
– KEYS SOULCARE
Beauty tricks and trends come and go, but a lit-from-within glow is a timeless (and telling) reflection of just how much love our skin and souls are getting.
Continuing our mission to help you shine at full wattage, we’ve rounded up six simple ways to boost your glow, from the inside out.
1. Break a sweat
Not only can exercising give you a major endorphins rush — and a few smiles, to boot — but it can also keep your skin looking and feeling fresh between workouts. Research claims sweat is a natural bacterial cleanser that can help remove toxins and regulate hormones. (And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t feel their best with a post-workout glow?)
2. Stay hydrated
You can’t “boost” what you don’t have. In other words? The hydration we put into our bodies is more crucial than the moisture we apply to the outside, as it’s responsible for eliminating toxins from our organs and the area beneath our skin’s surface. Plus, H2O keeps our skin cells plump and hydrated. Bottoms up!
No, really. Stress hormones like Cortisol do a number on our bodies from the inside out. After initially quickening our heart rates, and diverting nutrients and blood flow from where they are meant to be, they wreak havoc on our skin. A longer healing time, slower cell turnover, and thin, dull skin? Um, no thank you.
4. Give cells some topical back-up
In addition to gentle exfoliating, Keys Soulcare consulting dermatologist Renée Snyder, M.D. says topical ingredients like bakuchiol as well as prescription-level retinoids like vitamin A are super useful for boosting cell turnover and bringing newer cells to the surface.
5. Touch. Your. Face. (The right way)
Another great way to boost circulation is right at your fingertips. Facial rolling not only feels amazing in the moment, but can also combat puffiness. (Soulcare tip: Combine our Obsidian Facial Roller and Skin Transformation Cream for a cell-renewing, moisture-rich massage. Trust us, it’s an unbeatable combo!)
6. Make peace with year-round SPF
Thanks to a new assortment of multi-tasking makeup and skincare with SPF (which by the way, are increasingly glowy on all skin tones), it’s possible to have some fun in the sun without damaging your skin. Now, there’s no excuse not to protect your skin from the UVA and UVB rays that weaken skin cells and are linked to hyperpigmentation and several cancers. How are you planning to up your glow and skincare rituals this season? Have any more ideas that we forgot to mention? Share them in the comments!
